The Sims 4: Seasons was the expansion pack that came after The Sims 3: Seasons and The Sims 2: Seasons, both of which were very popular.

Since the said expansion pack came out in June 2018, we “simmers” have been able to enjoy The Sims 4’s wonderful weather system, which lets our sims have fun in all four seasons: winter, spring, summer, and fall.

How To Use Cheats To Control The Weather?

You must first open your cheat console. To do this, just press CTRL, SHIFT, and C.

Then, type “Testingcheats true” into the cheat console that will appear in the upper left corner of your screen. This will let you use the following cheats for the game’s weather.

Weather Cheat: Summon Those Raindrops

First, let’s talk about cheats for rain. If you want to keep your sims warm and dry inside the house, calling down raindrops is a good way to do it, since sims don’t like to leave their homes when it’s raining.

But if you want to call your Sims outside and make them dance in the rain, you need these cheats. Type these cheats for rain into your cheat console:

• weather.start_weather_event weather_Rain_Heavy_Cold – This will let you set the weather to Heavy Rain and Cold.
• weather.start_weather_event weather_Rain_Heavy_Cool – This will let you set the weather to Heavy Rain and Cool.

The same could be said about our sims, who always seem happy when the sun is out. Enter the following weather cheats into your cheat console to make the sun shine:

If you’ve never been through really bad weather in real life, The Sims 4 will show you what it’s like. Put the following extreme weather cheats on your cheat console to make the sky go crazy:

• weather.start_weather_event weather_Windy_Burning – This will let you set the weather to Windy and Burning.
• weather.start_weather_event Weather_Heatwave – This will let you set the weather to Sunny and Heatwave.

Weather Cheat: Charge Up The Sky With Lightning

We know how scary it is for sims to stay outside when there’s lightning, because there’s a good chance they’ll get hit, which will put them in a bad moodlet for a few hours.

Yep. In The Sims, it only takes a second to change the seasons. For summer, fall, winter, and spring, these are the cheats:

• seasons.set_season <0> – This will let you change the season to Summer.
• seasons.set_season <1> – This will let you change the season to Fall.
• seasons.set_season <2> – This will let you change the season to Winter.
• seasons.set_season <3> – This will let you change the season to Spring.
• Seasons.advance_season – The game changes to the next season on the list (depending on every player).

Seasons Cheat: Set The Length Of The Seasons

You can not only change the seasons, but you can also change how long each season lasts.

This is especially useful if you want to make a season last longer than usual.

Type one of the following codes to change how long each season lasts:

• seasons.set_season_length <0> – This will let you set the season duration to 7 days.
• seasons.set_season_length <1> – This will let you set the season duration to 14 days.
• seasons.set_season_length <3> – This will let you set the season duration to 28 days.

Changing The Weather Without Cheats

You can also change the seasons and weather in the game without using cheat codes. Here are the steps to follow:

1. In-Game Settings

The game lets you change the weather and the time of year. Click Game Options on the game’s menu.

Then click on the tab called Seasons. In the first part of the game, you can choose how long each season lasts. Keep in mind that changing the length will change where holidays and other events are on your sim’s calendar.

In the second and third sections, you can turn on some rain and snow options, giving you control over how bad the weather is. In the last section, you’ll be asked if you want to give sims weather effects.

If you check this box, your sims could die from bad weather if you aren’t careful.

2. Purchasing A Weather-Changing Device

The next thing is Dr. June’s device for changing the weather. In Build Mode, you can buy this weather-changing machine for 1,500 simoleons.

It looks like a big, rusty machine with knobs, controls, and an antenna. If you buy this cool tool, your sim can change the weather whenever they want to.

But if you want them to be able to change the seasons with this device, they would have to raise their Handiness skill and upgrade it.

Dr. June’s Weather-Changing Device has eight ways to improve it. Make sure that your sims’ Handiness skill is at level 8 so that they can upgrade the device’s Temporal Modifier Unit. This will give them full control over winter, spring, summer, and fall in the game.

Change things up by letting sims dance in the rain, play in the snow, feel the sun on their skin, or make a big storm in their neighborhood.
